We believe a charity that takes a cut of your donation should say so on the front page. We don't take a cut. Here is exactly how the money flows.
For donors
- Platform fee: ₹0. The Heal Foundation does not charge any platform or processing fee on your donation.
- Optional tip: at checkout, you may choose to add a small voluntary tip to support our running costs (server, audit, salaries of the verification team). It is fully optional and you can set it to zero.
- Payment-gateway charges: banks and UPI providers charge 1–2% per transaction. We absorb this from our general fund so 100% of your stated donation amount reaches the cause.
For fundraisers
- Listing fee: ₹0. Submitting and running a fundraiser is free.
- Verification: free. Our team visits the family or hospital in person at no cost to the fundraiser.
- Disbursement: funds are paid directly to the verified hospital, school or vendor against an invoice. Bank charges, if any, are absorbed by us.
How we cover our costs
The foundation's running costs (rent, audit, basic salaries for the field and verification team) are met from:
- Voluntary donor tips at checkout
- Restricted CSR grants from corporate partners earmarked for operations
- An institutional grant pool maintained separately from cause-tagged donations
We publish a full financial summary in our annual transparency report every year.
Compare us
Many crowdfunding platforms in India charge a 5–8% platform fee plus payment-gateway charges, all deducted from the cause. We have made a deliberate choice not to do this — we would rather grow more slowly and keep your trust.
